hi lads , new to this fourm , just got my new sti ( 98 ) in from japan , and i found a used forge bov in the glove box , now the stock one is on the car at the min but would like to put the forge on , dont know much about them tho and my Q is , it does'est screw on to radiator like the stock one does ( this is the bov http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/FORGE_DUMP_VAL... ) if i want to put it on do i just leave it to one side with the stock on still on ? or how do i work it ? Dont. They often dont seal anywhere as good as the orignal.

If yours is bolted to the intercooler then t sounds like you have a model year 99 car (which is a good thing) but the dump valve wont fit without an adaptor.

Thanks a lot jolly for that , can you advise me on one to get for it ( yes it is the on bolted to the intercooler ) Cheers kev

Just my opinion but i would stick with the factory valve. If you want psshhht noise just remove the recirculating hose from the valve and turbo inlet pipe and block it off there.

Another downside is (iirc) a vta upsets the fuelling as the ecu uses the ricirced air which it won't get if it's vented to atmosphere.

If i'm wrong i'm sure simon will let you know.
