Wondering if anyone can help me translate a word into Japanese.

Tried Google translate but no idea if its the correct meaning.

Im looking for "scratch" as in a scratch on the paintwork.

Would really appreciate any help smile

Try putting the Japanese results back into the Google translator to see if it makes sense?

Google doesn't always do it right for some reason, it's either translating the english word straight into japanese (sukuratchi) or "kizu" which I think means crack. This one is pretty good: http://www.excite.co.jp/world/english/

I think you want "hikkaki".

yea thats what i keep getting, tried a few site.

Gonna go with that.

Basically me and a couple mates have some Jap cars now, so i was thinking up a club name.
I also wanted a sticker to cover a scratch on my car, so i thought this would be a funny idea.

(patent pending) :P

lol good idea! Now you just need to find some one with the jap font on their system. I know Underground graphics has it, as they bought it in to do my front plate....

On this yeah the number was just for my cars year, 92....but in Japan this would be a classification number. The top word is a area code for Tama, Tokyo. The marking to the left of the plate is used a bit like our prefix letter, ie they follow suit in an alphabet.
Proper plates are pressed tin, but you cant get pressed with enough digits for my plate, so this one is printed.
This one is the full size import plate dimensions, just so it filled up the JDM stock plate holder properly.

Easiest £60 FPN ever if they so wish. Plus a rectification notice, new legal plate(s), and a visit to a MOT tester. If they don't like the cut of your jib, a report to DVLA. Get caught a second time and you will really p*** them off. Carry on and DVLA could revoke your reg number. Otoh you may be left alone for many more days/weeks/months.

Well....given that I held the smallest plate on record for Nottinghamshire, at 1x4.5" on my old bike....Im quite used to being pulled for plates biglaugh And, being an mot tester I really should know better.
But, Ive been known to baffle coppers in the past with a barrage of information, so given that the mot tester is not required to physically measure the dimensions of the characters and also given that imports are allowed motorcycle sized characters...I should be able to put some doubt in his mind. I just wont mention that mot regs are different to construction and use lol. Ive never had a fine for a plate to be honest, always just rectification notices, even for the diddy bike plate and also the black and silver plates that the Cossie used to wear.

'Hikkakimasu' - to scratch it, 'hikkaku' - a scratch caused by scratching. 'Kizu' - more akin to a scratch (or indeed a crack fnar fnar) from something else.

Why go to all that trouble, when a simple 'I'm a cock' sticker would perform the same function?
