Just noticed my handbrake light is not working.

How do you get the bulb out, assuming it is that, without getting splinters!!

Is there not a sensor by the handbrake that activates the light?

Not that I know the answer to the above, but me thinks it's a trip to the Steve Heath Chimaera book.

Don't know about that one, have tried taking the top off the brake fluid reservoir & the light seems to work, so I don't know whether there is a problem with a switch on the handbrake mechanism.

I can't speak for a Chimaera Lee, but as an S owner there's a sensor under the leather cover on the handbrake lever, I'd start ther first. As TVR dashes aren't normally the easiest things to take out

I'm sure the SH manual has pointers in the right direction if you have it?

Cheers,
Dave.

I haven't got the book, but I might take a look under the leather cover, as the bulb appears to be working for the fluid reservoir.

Thanks.

Lee.

There's a metal contact strip underneath the leather. I think you can get to it from below the car if you have a pit or decent axle stands. Mine did this. The contacts are open to the elements and need a bit of coaxing every now and then.

I removed the cover the other day and disturbed something and now it works again.
