My Blog of 2011 Le Mans .. Grab a coffee and enjoy the read
Discussion
Just completed this blog of mine weeks before some of us head out again for the annual pilgrimage to what is the greatest sporting event in the world (well, in my books anyhow and probably most people on the forum).
So to get you in the mood of the upcoming 2012 Le Mans 24 hour race, here is the link to my blog from last year. It is less about the actual racing, more a layman's view regarding the atmosphere I experienced while at Le Mans for my first time ...
Grab a coffee and enjoy (hopefully)

Those brakes were huge, attached to what we all agreed prior to the start, was the slowest car of the race. I suppose with Lotus its all about the corners, not about the top end speed, but those brakes were a bit overkill.
Anyhow, a self induced "Bump", so others can read the blog.
Thanks

Lotus was easily the slowest car in the race on the speed traps, but still makes sense to shed that speed as quickly as possible. Underpowered really, BMW managed to make a lot more hp with similar sized engine and restrictors but I guess their basic engine is a lot more sophisticated to start with. Be interesting to see how AJR get on with the car in the States and if it gets developments to bring it more in line with GTE pace as I love it!Anyhow, a self induced "Bump", so others can read the blog.
Thanks
Edited to add They were 2.2 secs off pole at Laguna Seca, which is a lot but still the closest they have been and Townsend Bell ain't as good as Darren Turner in my book. Not quite sure if that was on the 2011 or 2012 spec engine either as I'm not sure when the 2011 one was put in
