Talk me in/out of a 2007 E91 330d Manual..

As above really...

Been looking at these for a while. Found one in spec I wanted (SE with Sat Nav/phone/bluetooth/leather) at a good price. 74000 miles on the clock. Seller seems very genuine.

Anything I should watch out for? According to honest john/parkers seem pretty reliable and should combine 230ish BHP with 40mpg real world MPG for my high teens annual car usage.

I've even managed to persuade the wife! Something must be wrong somewhere?!?!?

Is the '07 the one with the updated engine? I seem to remember a change about then to a 345bhp engine in the 330d. I'd certainly do some checks to see if it's got that - no worries if it doesn't as mine has the older engine and it's very good

Its the old engine... The new one wasn't introduced until 2009 which makes it out of my ideal price range. Would you mind if I asked what kind of MPG you are getting? Is yours a manual?

Not a straight comparison as mine's an auto X3. Over the last year I've had just under 30mpg as an average, which is only fractionally worse than the 2.0d it replaced.

I have an 07 E92 and overall mpg this over the last couple of weeks has been a pretty constant 40.9. I've probably stuck close to 500 miles on it over this time so that includes a lot of driving up and down the hills in the Pennines. On a longer motorway run I've managed just short of 50mph (and always within the speed limit )

Just gone over the 70k point and no problems.
