Can anyone work this one out, have connection fault in heater switch, sometimes bang top of dash and it works, today did same, engine spluttered to a halt and will not start, could I have somehow dislodged something as I painfully banged my baby, have had no chance to check spark or fuel pump as it's still down the road, what have I done, feels like there's no fuel is there a fuel cut off switch I might of triggered and how do I reset? Help

Oh dear I think I've upset the immobiliser, fuel cut off button seems well pushed in! So any ideas as to what to do next, can said immobiliser be re set, alarm does not work and light flashes faster then normal!?
Try removing the two wires from the inertia switch and joining them together.Alun Ivor said:

You could try resetting the Meta alarm box (if that's the type you've got). Another poster had similar problems on this thread at the bottom:http://pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
You'll probably need to remove the dash top though - not too hard technically but grazed finger-tastic!

The same happened to me once (cant remember why I hit the dash probally making a technical adjustment), any ways I caused a short behind the dash & it blew a fuse holding off the ignition - try checking the fuses (Tip - Round nose pliers are handy for pulling & replacing them little fidley b******).
Its probably the relay inside the immobiliser that controls the immobilisation of the fuel pump.
You may be able to jolt it back into life by disconnecting & reconnecting it's power supply.
Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, then cycling the immobiliser with the remote fob?
The relays hidden inside the immobiliser unit are notoriously unreliable.
There are three of the blighters in there, one for the live to the starter solenoid, one for the live to the ignition coil & one for the fuel pump (which also benefits from a second relay hanging in the footwell).
Access to the relays inside the immobiliser isn't always practical so people often just end up bypassing the faulty circuit.
Or you could call Carl Baker and get the job done properly.
