Un-bending chain rings

My big and middle chain rings both have a fairly sizeable (ie nearly 1cm) warp in them... to cut a long story short, my front mech wouldnt shift into first due to some mud, I kicked it to move it across and missed.....

The problem now is that however I adjust the front mech it rubs on one side of the chain or the other for part of each revolution, but i'm a little impoverished at the moment so 40 quid for 2 new rings isnt high on my priority list. So, is it possible to remove and re-flatten the rings under some heavy weights/by hitting with a hammer?

I've just straightened some on an old chainset with a large adjustable spanner. Adjust the jaws so it just slides onto the chain ring and then ease the bend out. I left the chain rings on the spider to hold them.

I do that with warped rotors so I imagine it should work quite well with chainrings too.

As above you should be able to gently bend it back using adjustable spanner, just be careful of metal fatigue if it's an actual crease as opposed to a bend.
