A good curry house in Leeds??
Discussion
Best curry place I've found is Aagrah by BBC Yorkshire but that is a good 15 walk from the O2 Academy (Assuming you mean the Academy, there's no arena) http://www.aagrah.com/index.php?option=com_content...
Closest curry to O2 Academy would be Spice Quarter in Millenium Sq http://www.spicequarter.co.uk/ which is a buffet type place, good value but limited curry choice.
Akbars on Greek St is popular but I think its average.
If you prefer an alternative cuisine theres a good chinese in the area - Red Chilli, or Thai Edge for Thai.

I took the OH to Akbars on Saturday evening. We thought the food and service was great, though you can't book so you just turn up and hope you don't have to wait too long. Also, there was a lot of very spirited conversation going on - we had to shout to be able to hear one another over the noise. It felt more like a very crowded and noisy bar than a restaurant.

Another vote for Aagrah, but then again I spend way too much time at the Shipley buffet so I am a tad biased
Is it good? I'm not far from Shipley.MitchT said:

I would rule out Aagrah and Mumtaz purely as its a right trek from Millenium Square.

Compared to their other restaurants I find the Aagrah in Leeds to be a bit lacking, the food was very ordinary the last time I went in there and could easily have been from the shelves of Asda. It's also a fair old trot from the 02.
Miah's Kitchen on York Place is probably the nearest one worth a try:

Does it have to be a curry though? There are lots of other options in the area including some great Japanese noodles at Fuji Hero.

Fuji Hero is good - basic, but good. No-nonsense food and generous portions. I always like places where there is a significant number of Japanese/Korean/Chinese customers... good sign...McHaggis said:
