Can anybody tell me if the TVR pedals, as fitted to early Vixens, were fitted with return springs? I presume they were but needless to say I haven't got any!

Nothing that a few strokes with a wire brush and a squirt of WD40 won't put right!

Quite. TVR were never a fan of heel-toe were they!

I,ve got some springs that are perfect for YOUR pedal box. I,ve had them for years and one end has rotted off them.

I think you are underestimating what you will need to repair that, you are going to need double sided tape and some tie wraps.

Yep - got that and not forgetting a top coat of hammerite! Now Steve I know you are "all heart" offering me a rusty spring with an end missing and all but what will I need to make my clutch and brake pedal return? Once I've filled them with plastic padding that is!

Thanks Steve, I did wonder. I know that an old Elan I had was fitted with pedal springs but I can now save my money and put it towards some more tape and and zip ties to hold it all together! Cheers.

Mine is an S3 with cable clutch, so possibly a bit later than you were after.

There is a spring on the clutch pedal, but not on the brake.

(yep, the clutch spring was broken when I bought it. Seems to be a standard feature)

An excellent example of why we buy TVR's. They're plastic and therefore don't ever rust...laugh

This will do but does anybody know if there are any pedal rubbers available to fit the brake and clutch pedals? I thought perhaps e type but they are not long enough. Series one landrover perhaps?

I have some on mine. They have a capital T in the middle so assumed they would be triumph. Pics later.

I wonder which parts bin they came out of? Perhaps they were bespoke TVR?

Those in the pictures look similar to later S series cars, about 100mm long?

Originals have TVR across the centre but I believe replacements available from DG's don't?

The letter T ones are maybe Triumph TR6 etc. (about 75mm) used on M's & Taimars

The pedal rubbers are manufactured by a company DARE who provided rubbers for many manufacturers of the period. I can't read the model number on the back of my old ones but they too are perished. I have not been successful in sourcing replacements so am using a modern alternative.

I have made new pedal foot plates to suit Vauxhall Astra accelerator pedal rubbers, part number 90571744 (same width and about 3/4 the length of the originals)

Hope this helps

They look the same as the ones I got from Marshall Moore a while ago for my Grantura. I will check the size later this week. I could do with a couple more myself.

I think the brake and clutch pedal rubbers are Triumph Spitfire/Herald, but not entirely sure...

They may be the same as TR6 ones, but if so, I bet Spitfire part numbers are cheaper !!

I tried to contact Marshall Moore a few weeks ago, with no luck, so if you get him I'd like to know what details you used.
