Coil question

Hi chaps i have just bought this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110877422631?ssPageName=... as a spare and it seems to work fine except that now the rev counter doesn't register at tickover and seems to be approx 1000rpm low whilst driving. I have put back the original coil and all is fine.

Any ideas?

Have you got electronic ignition. It reads as though this coil was off a non electronic ignition.

isn't our coil 9v and that's a 12v coil. Don't shoot me if i'm totally wrong please!

Mine is non electronic as is this. What do you mean by ballast Chris?
