So, the Chim has been sitting for a good 3 weeks now without moving, which I removed both rocker covers, and cleaned / polished them up.

When removing the passengers-side cover, I nudged the coil accidentally when removing the plenum, and sparks flew!
It all seemed fine though, got on with the job.

Now I have replaced both covers, all back together again, car started fine, and ran fine - took it for a drive.
The problem is, the red battery (ignition) light was on the entire journey (from starting the car, to switiching it off) it went out again once I turned it off.

I'm not really sure what this means - in the manual it just says "consult your dealer".

- Have I blown the 100amp fuse?
- Have I stuffed the alternator?

Or... is it just down to the battery being pretty flat, with it sitting for 3 weeks?

if it started, the battery cant be that flat.

if the red light is on, it means the alternator is not charging above the battery output, so it means the alternator is likely not charging.

check all the wiring around the coil and alternator. but it sounds like part of the alternator is damaged, or a lead to or from it broken or disconnected
