Maybe try Richard Thorpe at RT Racing in Sheffield - 0114 281 7507 - he may be able to help

Try Brett, on 01670 519299.

They do spares for older Fords, and post stuff out.
(They're in Morpeth).

I went up there for a viscous fan for my 280i.

Thanks Lads, but no luck so far. I have been given some 1.5mm s/s cable to try and make one myself. original is 1mm so ive got my fingers crossed.

Interesting though. The information you find out by ringing aroung.

Not sure what you mean by a 'cable'. But maybe Speedy Cables could have one made up. It's not usually expensive and sometimes it's an easier alternative to tracking down an original part.

Ford C3 is an Auto box.

I remember vividly having to support one with one hand,
while refitting to 3 litre Essex.
They're HEAVY man.

TVR auto ? Don't know if I fancy that.

Thanks lads

But no luck. I am in the process of making one at the moment.

Yes an auto, not my first choise but she looks great and only 37000 on the clock with supporting MOTs'

I have found out a bit about the car on the ring around.

The car was aparently destined for the USA. But when the export licence fell apart it got converted to right hand drive and sold in the uk. It has a 400 series chassy with a SEAC dash. It has power stering and a more pretty body style. It will do for a first TVR venture.

Hello John; I've just had a look at your profile. Did it leave the factory with those skirts, wheel arch extensions and vents in the bonnet? Are all the remaining yellow cars oddballs? Are you and Firefox in collusion?

As far as i am aware it came out the factory like that, however it was originally blue. The last owner painted it yellow. I need to look at firefox's.

Don't panic John, yours is a US spec as you state in your profile.. the US ones do look slightly different all round to the UK 280i including the skirts and vents in different places on the bonnet..
