how many S's left?
Discussion
Can anyone make an intelligant guestimate as to how many S's are left in the UK, both V6 and V8?
Ive got a V8S, there were 410ish built i think... but have no idea how many get hedged, lamposted etc ending up as a write off or an export
Also, for the V6 S1-4, there were 3000 made, anyone got any probable figures to share?

I don't think anyone actually knows... but best bet is to speak to chuggaboom as he's the registrar for the TVRCC...
Thanks for that. I was wondering along the lines of an insurance related estimate... i have no idea what figures are for the average number of writeoffs and exports per year, wouldnt even want to guess...
I think somebody (shpub?) quoted something like 10% TVRs written off per year. That seems like a very high figure to me (and maybe I misremembered it) but if you take this as a rough guide and apply it from the year of manufacturing to date you could come up with some indication of how many might still be on the roads?

Agreed, does sound a bit high but its Friday, I'm bored and it got me thinking anyway.....
I haven't got the Bible with me so have assumed 429 cars per year on a 7 year production run = 3000 units:
Year 1 = 429 built - 10% = 386 left
Year 2 = 386 plus 429 new = 815 - 10% = 734 left
and so on and so forth.
No cars added after Year 7 so:
end of production 2014 left
year 2000 = 1070 left
2004 = 702 left
2023 = drops below 100 to 95
2064 = all gone
Sad that my Friday's come to this. I need a

Praps with exports the 10% is fair for UK cars
