Hi there
I've just bought an E46 M3 convertible and I'm trying to confirm what servicing has been done on it.
It had an inspection 2 done at BMW 3000 miles ago but when I spoke to the dealer there was no mention of the gearbox and diff oil being replaced.
Is there any reason why they wouldnt change it and is it something I should look to get done now?
Cheers Andy

Gearbox + diff oil change is part of the Insp 2 on an M3.

It should have been done or what you have in effect is only an Insp 1. If u can convince the dealer they have forgotten to do it then I'd push for them to do it again.
I'm guessing you don't have the service sheet detailing what work has been done?

Servicing dealer should be able to tell you by checking the invoice as the oils would have been charged for, if there is no charge for the oils assume it has not been done and get it done, but not by that dealer.

A decent dealer to look after your car, if they're not too far from you, is Elms in Cambridge, Emma and Gareth are your people.

Thanks chaps.
I'll call the dealer and find out exactly what they did
