Glossy dash. Removing the I assume silicone.
Discussion
Hi guys. Thinking about the plastic black/grey dash on my 111r I bought 2nd hand in Feb. I think the seller got carried away with some sort of glossy 'Back to Black' type product on the dash.
Can you suggest how to remove previous products so it's in a raw state and then to re do it with a less shiny finish pls?

You want a nice low caustic All Purpose Cleaner, I find AutoGlym Interior Cleaner very good, couple of MFs and a clean bucket of warm water (don't want cold hands) and depending on the product you might need to clean it a few times to get rid of all of the old product.
Once clean you can either leave it or if you want to add something try Orchard AutoCare Interior Wizard which will protect and leave it matt.
If leather then I would use Dr Leather cleaner/wipes.
Leather should be matt for me.
(AutoGlym can be got from Halfrauds so no online waiting for postie etc)

I used a spray bottle of kitchen cleaner that deals with grease and scum in the end. It took off all the glossy gunk and looks nice and flat again.
Think I'll redress it with this: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/interior/poorboys-na...
Thanks!
