As per title, I need to know what goes well with Springbok and Kangaroo steaks. It's not a special event, just was curious to try some different meats, so asked the butcher for something a little different.

My friend and I have a steak each of Springbok and Kangaroo (albeit quite small steaks), so what would go well?

I was thinking along the lines of a stir-fry vegetable meal? Bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, spring onions, a red onion, carrots, mushrooms and mange tout - anything I've missed?

Any other suggestions are MORE than welcome. As is suggestions on how to cook the meats - was going to pan fry them in a HOT pan, with a teaspoon of olive oil. Cook them rare, so about 2 minutes / 1 minute done. Ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Pictures?! I can barely use my laptop!! If there are any pictures, it will be a crappy iPod photo (around 10 times worse than iPhone). Just to warn you.. hehe

I figured to cook Kangaroo like beef - but quicker - it's very lean, so there isn't a lot of fat to keep it moist when cooking.

Should I soak the steaks in olive oil to keep them moist, or not bother?

This, so anything that goes with beef should go well with Skippy. smile

I've previously done the standard 'chips and a bit of mustard' with a full red wine. yum

Well, I think we are a bit more scum-bag-ish than you, lol. We are substituting the wine for some Henry Westons 2010 Cider - only 8.4%... We have 3 bottles each, then whatever else we can find, lol. Could be a messy night, ha!

And if I manage to take any photo's, you'll see just how much we are scumbags, lol!

My recipe had nothing to do with poshness and everything to do with lack of cooking ability and what was around. hehe
