TVR Challenge at Brands 9 June
Discussion
Well the season starts again for us on June 9th at Brands Hatch.
Lots of new cars out, many back again means this is the biggest season for many years.
10 GpA Tuscans (2xLS Chevys), 4 GpB Tuscans, Griffs, Tasmins are on the list. Jonny Wilsons 4.7 Cerb is back
and Jamie Golbys long awaited LS Cerb GT is out. Also new this year is STR8six' SP6 Tuscan! Theres several MGBGTV8s in there too (due to them becoming too fast for their own series). Add to that the appearance of random GT Sagaris' during the season and we are in for quite a year!
Hope to see some of you there again...
Qually Sat 9th 12:10-12:30
Race 1 Sat 9th 18:00-18:20
Race 2 Sun 10th 15:50-16:10

also on the bill
GTIs
Euro Saloons (with CJs T350 I believe)
Sakers (GTs)
Porkers

Nice one Mike, didn't know yours was back up and running.
3 Cerbs is definately a record!
Good to have you back, does this mean that you may be in ours more this year. GTcup starting the way it has?
A
BTW there is one other Cerb GT promising to make an appearance this year too; making 4!!!

You wait all day for a TVR race... and then none occur
Looked a rather nasty accident that stopped the earlier race tho (didn't see it, just the aftermath) - the SEAT looks a write off, both drivers ok so I heard.
TVRs should go off to race first at 10:55 I was told just before I left....

According to mikes website the race was red flagged due to a shunt.
He made up 19 places (!) in the 6 laps!!!!
He stormed through the field and was about to start picking off the faster cars when the red flag came out. Shame, as once he was past the back markers and into free space he seemed to have better pace than the leaders. Also, just to be clear this was during the EuroSaloon race, not the TVR Challenge race. Mike had planned to be in both races back to back!He made up 19 places (!) in the 6 laps!!!!
Just got back from Brands.
Mike won the first TVR race after starting at the back of the grid and running on 6 cylinders
He then competed in another catergory straight after the first TVR race and won second....again with 6 cylinders...against cars with 6-700bhp engines
He started the second TVR race, hopefully on 8 cylinders....possible coil fault.....from pole position and won with approx 1/2 lap lead over the second place Tuscan driven by Cook
I left before Mike's second race in the other catergory but I think there may be a pattern emerging.....
