Price Guide for earliest Duratec super lights?

Hi

Currently building an Ultima, which is taking longer than expected, so currently miss having a hoon car.

So spent the morning at Caterham midlands looking/drooling at different cars. Have come to conclusion I need an SV with lowered floors to cope with my PH "powerfully built" figure .

Having previously owned an Atom, I like my cars to have a bit of poke, so was thinking an early duratec super light or possibly a CSR would suit me best.

The car could end up an interim car for 12 months, or who knows I might love it so much and sell the other car lol. So what do people think is the starting price for something like an eslry R300D/400 or CSR, especially if I'm not to precious about mileage?

Hi Dave,

I almost did the same when waiting for my new R500, after I had sold the previous R500, I wanted something to blat around in whilst waiting.

I looked for a few R400 Superlights, though not SV models.

I could not find anything for less than £28K, but most seem to be around the £30K mark.

They also seem to get snapped up quickly too.

There is a SV R300 w/ R400-spec motor as well as a CSR in the PH classifieds currently.

Thanks guys. Reasons for asking are with only the 2 in the classifieds its hard for someone new to caterham to assess if these are representative of prices others have gone for.

I thought I was pushing it with the missus with the Ultima, but having an interim car too is really pushing the boundaries .

Yeah good luck with that Dave.

My missus keeps asking me why I have three cars, and she only has one!!

She is starting to drive the 911 more these days though!!

Well I keep reminding Mrs W she has 4 dogs ..... doesn't go down well though

She also didn't want to drive my 911 when I had one, but wanted a Beetle . Go figure.
