and in before somebody says vasectomy!! sperm

Two weeks after the arrival of little Josh, it is apparent that a 3 door Golf isn't going to cut it. Getting a MASSIVE maxi Cosi seat in the back is a struggle and the pram needs the wheels off to get in the boot.

I wanted a Skoda Yeti, but boot isn't big enough. Missus has ruled out a Skoda Roomster on its looks. VW Touran has lots of space and 2 occassional seats in the boot which would be handy (but not essential).

What else is there? Up to £20k, up to 2 years old, "high up" ie not an estate, not French and no bigger than a Touran ie not Galaxy sized.

If I can get the family car sorted it will distract her attention when a new motorbike "appears" in the garage...scratchchin

We got ourselves a Qashqai after having the same issue. Ours is on lease as there's some cracking deals out there, look for the N-Tec models which come loaded with kit. Very well screwed together (not as plastic as I thought it would be), good driving position, nice height for getting sprog in and out too. The +2 version has extra seats if you need them.

Looked at a Touran but it was a bit too much like a bus for our liking.

GTFO! Baby would go in the topbox of my R1200GS if H&S wasnt invented.

Mazda CX5 no likey.

Ford Kuga no likey.

Off to look at XC60s, thanks. What did bored people do before the internets were invented?

Another vote for the Mazda. Middle rear seat is really an occasional but there are two more in the floor of the boot. Biggest boon is the sliding rear doors, so much easier with sprogs in car park spaces. Basically the same as a CMax (Mrs has 5, my dad has a CMax and the windscreen is identical and lots of other similarities both inside and out.

ETA, £20k will buy you a new 2.0 Sport

How many kids?

why not french?

we had a kangoo when ours were little, the sliding door made getting the little bundles of joy into their carseats easypeasy.

Don't ford do a Cmax with slidy doors - might be worth a look

Having unfortunately driven kangoo vans for years at work I wouldnt recomend them to my worst enemy. Mine set itself on fire eventually after regular breakdowns. Buy french, buy st.

fair do's, but I had one for a couple of years and 40k miles, it didn't put a foot wrong, if fact I have had many french cars over the years and they have all been pretty reliable. Something I couldn't say about the mercedes I had......

A pal of mine has a touran, its been a complete nightmare

my mum was looking at a touran before getting a C-Max, actually a really nice car in the titanium spec, leather heated seats etc,

the only criticism its had in 2.5 years n 60k of driving is the ride isnt that great, but thats because its on 18' alloys.

well worth considering.
