Ok, so may be adding a second car next year. Criteria are, neither myself, nor the OH need to drive. This will mainly be for me, as we have the Disco as a family car. Needs to be interesting, capable of carrying a couple of jerry cans, not Italian, and, that's about it I suppose. Probably less than 3000 miles/year. New or used. Did I say not Italian?

Inspire me...

Price?

We could suggest anything from a Mitsubishi Starion to a Corvette ZR1..

Price? Well, a new Defender 110 County Utility Wagon is top of the list, and retails around £27k.

A 355?!? Italian, and I don't think i could fit a couple of jerry cans in the boot. hehe

Also on the rather eclectic list are a 968 Clubsport, and a Fabia VRS (highly impressed by a mates car).

Why not Italian though? A Maserati 4200 would be a lovely thing to run as an occasional car.

As would a V12 DB7. Or be a bit less adventurous and play it safe with a 911. 996 Turbo, C4 S or a 993 C2 perhaps. 928 GTS or 850CSi to think about also.

None of which are necessarily any less likely to land sizeable bills than any Italian performance machinery.

Can you fit Jerry cans in a 911?

OK I'll ask, why do you need to carry a couple of jerry cans with you?

Aeroplane runs on Mogas. Car will be parked up at the airfield and don't want to take the family car as it means the OH can't use it (and she doesn't want the car to stink of petrol).
