SD Eye-fi cards

Yes.
Have used/trialled only in a P7000. Transfers quickly enough in practical use, haven't tested battery drain In a day's shooting it wasn't a problem but that was only 100 snaps or so. Would be handy when out and about for getting jpegs to a phone or tablet, but would rather tether if possible/needed. Because I'm not a shooting-jpeg fan i've not used it extensively yet.
Easy to set up though - works like magic - and of course can be used as ordinary CF, and I think i'll probably use it more for the odd social thing where people want images shared at low res, but personally I want to take a bazillion shots and throw most away....
I never got around to trying one in a CF adapter. But my next camera will have an SD slot, so will be using more.....

I have used to to Tx to IPad and Laptop. Raw takes about 4s. They're OK but I shoot tethered now to Lightroom.
As for CF adaptors. CF cards come in two versions Type I an II. One is thicker than the other and adaptors only come in the one type. Can't remember which! Except that an adaptor wont fit a D700 and as I shoot mainly with that camera I have to shoot tethered.
