Thinking of renting an RV for a couple of days to drive out to the GC from Vegas in October with the by-then Mrs Crossflow.
Little bit more cost than hotels (but not much) and seems like a good road trip tick to get, even if it is just for a couple of nights.
But, is it really worth it? Two nights really enough to justify a 'bago?
I'm also slightly wary of the Septics' idea of camping whereby, although the brochure shows a couple snuggled up supping Coors by the campfire at dusk in the foreground of an Eagles album cover, we'll end up in some overly-sanitised park-between-two-lines "campground".
Anyone?

You'll find the costs of hiring one just for a couple of nights will be huge once you've paid all the associated fees, thats if you find a company that will rent for less than a week. The nightly rental isn't too bad but you have to pay all the prep fees etc even if taking it for a couple of days. We're hiring one from Moturis in LA at the end of September and the fees are around £300 on top the nightly rate. When you're away for 3 weeks then that isn't too bad but for 2 nights?

As for the campgrounds, they are pretty close to what you might imagine. It does depend where you go but most state ones have fire pits, benches etc at each site.

slightly off topic I'm afraid but..

I'm off to Vancouver with the OH in mid June for a fortnight, and we hoped to rent an RV for at least 10 days of that to go exploring, thinking a circular route out from Vancouver.

Anyone done it, or anything we should know ?

Not done Canada but its very much the same as America, use Motorhomebookers.com, they're UK based and I've found the cheapest of the online agents.
