Hello fellow 5'ers! I've had my 5 for about 2 months now and I am loving it - bin gradually getting through the various small jobs I knew about when I bought her. However, I have noticed that the engine oil level is too high (and must have been since I bought it, as I haven't topped her up). Should I do an oil change asap, or will it be OK running on a bit too much oil?

Thanks in advance!

How much too much?

If it's just over it should be ok, if it's significantly over then yes, you're probably best dropping a bit out.

on the mk2.5 dip stick, its just where the curve starts. not massively over, but my gut feel is I should drop some out...

Not sure what a MK2 Dipstick is like but better safe than sorry.

Don't bother, it'll be absolutely fine.

This, I regularly overfill mine, it's no big deal. Hell if you track the car a lot it's advisable to help stop starvation on log high speed bends.
