orange wheels have some good leases on them, but beware the options push any lease price right up, and no one wants a standard a1 on small wheels with no xenons leather or bose or sat nav wink

Sorry but that is simply not true! The base 1.6 TDI SE has almost the strongest resale values of any car in that class, hence the leasing prices are really cheap. Its the A1s with lots of pointless options pushing the price up to silly levels which loose the most value. Example http://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing-... £149 a month, cheapest of any A1 deal in the UK I can see.

Given all models have alloys, aircon and the concert stereo with mmi standard they are not really basic to start with.

OP, take a browse contracthireandleasing.com

But you are not spending the money on the Audi badge...

The A1 1.6 TDI is more powerful (105ps vs 90ps for the Polo), has lower CO2 of just 99g giving it road tax and congestion charge exemption, along with better MPG. Easily worth an extra £20pm, but I very much doubt you'd get a Polo 1.6 TDI for £129pm anyway - got a link to that deal?
