On a SLK320 what is the use of netting between the seats ?

head high just at the rear of the seats is a removeable netting , I assume something to do with wind deflection, but I have removed and quite frankly don't seem to find that it makes much difference, plus when the roof is up it's a hinderence to reat vision.Is it supposed to act as a wind deflector ?

correct. don't use it as minimal effect for zero visibility

I would argue that it does keep a bit of the cold air away. I don't use it when the weather warms up enough, purely because of the visibility issue.
The coldest spot though is down the side of the leg nearest the doors - or at least when its zero outside ! (How can it be outside with the roof down ?)

Gee I admire your Spartan atitude driving with the roof down in zero temperatures. I guess I'm a bit soft and I've only had the car for a couple of days so still feeling my way ....plus I live in Australia and though it's almost Winter the temp yesterday was about 20 so it was quite pleasant withthe roof down. it will be great in Summer when it gets up to 35!!!!!

I tried that daft hair net thing a couple of times. After faffing to fix it to the rollover hoops, I found that it was pretty useless and that it reduced rear vision to an unacceptable degree.

Mine now lives in my car bits and bobs suitcase (together with spare bulbs, ice scraper, blanket, spare GPS, German parking time thing etc. etc.) in the boot cat hatch.

I now keep a hi-viz tabard in the stowage pouch, plus a folding umbrella.

So it's not just me that can't see well out of rear window with the daft net thingy up then. Good idea re brolly etc. Will make the modifications soon.

I changed to an S2000 wind deflector. It worked just as well and is transparent. It also looks original to the car
