Bit of background first......
Just had the engine rebuilt, new radiator and a load of other bits and bobs done to the 4.0l Chimaera, currently doing the 1st 1000miles at running in revs, ie no more than 3.5/4k.
Anyway, yesterday drove through a local bit of fast twisties and did a quite hard brake at the traffic lights at the end, while I'm waiting for the lights to change smoke/steam starts coming from the nearside front, and according to the bloke next to me it was coming from the wheel arch, but it could have been the bonnet vents, the engine temp was fine 70-80 degC and when the lights changed I drove off and didn't spot anything else odd the rest of the 4 miles home, had a look round and couldn't spot any signs of anything amiss and it was fine this morning, anyone got any ideas

Hmmmm...sounds like brakes to me...I used to regulary set mine on fire down a local stretch of road on a very twisty decent...you know the ones were you brake for the junction at the bottom of the hill and have to grab the handbrake to get stopped...
Not in the Chim BTW but a Ren 5 Turbo...the X1/9 I owned had solid dics and used to glow a nice cherry red...lol..
Ah..the good ole days....
