Have I priced this too high?
Discussion
Hi all, selling my 95N Serp/T5 Chimaera
and have had very little interest. Accepting that one never recoups all the money spent on big jobs, am I asking too high a price? Even in spite of the year & mileage, I thought I'd priced it attractively. Or have I been too "honest" with the wording of the advert? Or is it something else? Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

I'd say the state of the drivers seat and the rather tatty looking mats let the car down in a big way and would put me and a lot of buyers off straightaway, regardless of the engine rebuild and outriggers
If you look at the cars on offer around yours there are some nice cars with substantially lower mileage and tidier interiors and it's those bits that impress buyers more than the oily, out of sight bits. It might be worth spending a bit on new mats and getting the seats sorted to achieve the price your after.

Hi, well how can i say this without you taking offence....... it does look a bit tired to me, if i was after another i would be put off by scruffy interior, knackered seats and split dash that i would either have to spend money on putting it to how i'd like it or for want of not offending i'd just walk away probably. £6995 max in my opinion and expect to get knocked down to £6500, my Chim was immaculate and got little interest and was priced where yours is, look in the classifieds

I looked at one very similar to yours last year it was up for £7500 for ages it eventually sold when the advert price dropped to £6995. Really all depends how quickly you want to sell, if you hang on you might just find a buyer who is willing to pay a bit extra for the comfort of the outrigger and engine work but for a quick sale its prob overpriced.

Hello all,I absolutely agree with you, ewan221.
Is always the same, when you really badly need the money, then you come under pressure!
I hope you have a long breath, and you'll get what she's worth. Cheers TTC
On a quick glance, I would also say that she is looking a bit tired.
A lot of prospective buyers will keep on clicking irrespective of the mechanical investment, which is clearly not being appreciated.
Some new carpets would be the fastest was to brighten the interior.
To be honest, the drivers seat lets it down most of all, assuming someone notices the photo.
That colour red can look absolutely terrible with the wrong light (or some other factor that 14 years has not taught me).
The paint looks dull, though it could easily be really nice?
Think of a full polish and some new photos of the exterior.

Fair comments all and no offence taken, thanks to everyone. I knew the seats and carpets would be sticking points but hoped the mechanical work would be more attractive. Not sure if I have the time at the moment to sort it out so will have to think about how much to drop the price by.
