Is it a flat plane crank V8? TVR's own?

I'll have a Chimaera then please!

To me it's not just about noise. Power and performance from a AJP8 far outdoes the RV8

Beauty is in the eye........

I think the sound is awesome, far nicer than Rover V8 engined cars ( & this is coming from a 4.3 Griff, arguably the nicest sounding RV8 car )

A V8 Cerbera being nailed is, to my ears, the most exciting of all the TVR noises! ( just listen to a Tusc being nailed )

I'd better go now.

Personally, I think the idling burble of a Griff is best (at low RPM).

Following a car at a constant 70-80ish, PsychoBert's S made the best warbling/throbbing.

But at high RPM, foot to the floor (how the car should be driven), the ME-109 quality of the AJP with a sports zorst is one of the greatest sounds ever. I've even made people look to the skies rather than down the road whilst driving up to them

Now, my Tuscan... the Nascar like quality of the CCC cans I've got on it mean it's louder than the Cerb (and still fantastic to hear on full song), but it's a bit too "raw". Considering a de-cat to see what I can do to improve things...

If more cars sounded like motorbikes, the world would be a better place.

May I suggest Sir listens to a S6 Cerb too - a slightly mellower yet still full-bodied soundtrack although lacking the 'percussion' of an AJP8!!

And it sounds like a BEAST!

It has this innovation from the '80s you may have heard of where, if you brake really hard, it will control the brake pressure to each wheel to maximise grip and minimize stopping time..! ABS I think it's called?

TVR owners have this innovation from the year dot, where we try to judge the conditions and stopping distance required, and brake accordingly.

(And ABS doesn't control the pressure, does it - it's just a binary on/off state, hence not quite maximing grip or minimizing stopping time, right?)

I'm with the RV8's idle and trotting burble... its reminiscient of classic big v8 american muscle....

but...

with the right straight through cat-back set-up (decat for the excessive's amongst ya), the idle of a cerb can be quite exhilirating....

last time I measured my db's, 115db @ 2500rpm...
That was a while ago now... I'm pretty sure she's gone even louder now (could be psychological)....

so which airhead has the highest decibals at the rear on 2500rpm? We should all get together and do a drive-by on one of those Harley Bikers events, just for a laugh

I own a Griff 500 which sounds the mutts nuts however whenever I hear a Cerb with it's AJP V8 I go weak at the knees. Just listening to the noise of the thing, and all the pops and bangs

I've got an old vid of Top Gear from a few years back where JC refused to play any music whilst driving the car, claiming the Cerbera bought it's own along. Couldn't agree more.
