I've picked up some really irritating adware on my computer and can't seem to get rid of it. My Norton Antivirus picks it up and gives a reference of c:windowsmxtarget.dll. However, it won't delete it. If I go into Windows Explorer and try to delete it I get a message that says cannot delete mxtarget: access is denied.

Anybody have any ideas?

www.lavasoft.de - Download Ad Aware and the latest signature update. Install and run.

Then google for Spybot - Search and Destroy

Download that and the latest signatures and run that too.

Job's a good 'un...

Have been plagued for a few months now - it's like a bit of chewing gum on the sole of your boot isn't it?

Even Spybot wasn't helping with some things (Bl**dy "Blaze Find"!!!)

A couple of days ago I upgraded from Norton 2002 to the all new singing and dancing 2004. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but this has improved things muchly!
