At risk of appearing overly fussy, I'm hoping that the PH collective can recommend a new microwave.

Couldn't care less about:
Whether or not it's a combi/grill unit
Brand
Price

Essentials:
Stainless steel
Mustn't keep on beeping if you ignore the notification that the countdown has finished

Last one we had would beep intermittently after the countdown had finished. I don't like being nagged, least of all by a piece of kitchen equipment.

Can anyone suggest one that meets the spec?

Cheers in advance!

Just binned our two year old Panasonic Inverter thing. Googling the part number, leads me to believe they are not the most reliable!

My Panasonic has been going for about... errrr.. 6+ years so far and meets your criteria - stainless steel, and beeps a few times then stops smile

Hmmm... so Panasonic, but very mixed views on reliability!

Same as anything you may buy! Some good, some bad

Yes, we have two in the kitchens at work and they have been going strong for years. I have a Panny combi at home as well that has been faultless. maybe the later ones are not quite as good?

Yep, ours lasted 16 months. Pretty well a top of the range stainless steel one. Panasonic couldn't have cared less.

We only bought it as the old one was looking tatty - thankfully it was still in the garage so has been pressed by into service.

Ditto! I dragged out a 25 year old Toshiba thing from the garage as well. Awful looking thing in brown and beige but it does the job. For defrosting the odd thing from the freezer I'll be damned if I'm going to blow another £300!

I have a Panasonic as well, think its about 7 or 8 years old. When the cooking is done it beeps 3 times and that's it. I don't know if the quality has taken a dip but it has done me well and been in three places with me now.

We have a stainless steel microwave in the pantry, 1500W and gets used and abused. Sharp I believe, well built bit of kit.

No idea how much it is but it's insanely powerful hehe
