Two years ago i bought a mini...

which was advertised as having a chilli pack on it. I checked the car had all the extras that go with the chilli pack, which it did, apart from the trip computer. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong or pressing the wrong button so didn't think any more about it as the car had everything else that is on the chilli pack.

I'm now trying to trade in the Mini for something else and it turns out it does not have the chilli pack but had everything added on except the trip computer.

Its now worth about £500 less as a result.

I bought it from a Mini specialist that is part of a bigger indy local to me. The Mini site is now closed but all other sites within the indy group still trade.

I have no proof of the advert so realise I have no chance of any comebacks but still feel cheated and pissed off really.

Guess I'll have to save up a bit more than I thought.

Not really a rant but I give myself 2/10 as not enough swearing.

Well it has been an adventure that I've enjoyed but cost me more than I thought.

It's annoying though. If I had realised a week after buying it then things would have been different...

They offered me £6000 but with the chilli pack it would have been £6500 and maybe more. Its a 56 reg 07 cooper s. (Its not in the classifieds before anyone a points that out!)

The only new car I've bought (well until the caterham arrives) was a ford ka, that didn't have the advertised rev counter. It's odd how they miss these things - took me ages to get it sorted, it also broke down on the first day out.

The marketing is indeed very good but its success may also have something to do with the simple fact that it is truly a very decent car

Quite right matey, and enough of a motor in Cooper S variants, to show the way home to cars such as the all or nothing, Type R, and say, the Fiat Coupe turbo, if it lasted that long.

You can get a new shape cooper s for 6k now :O

Hated them when they were new, but I reckon they are a great second hand buy, so many, and all with so little mileage on them, if they were 2nd , or 3rd motors.

Why would the original purchaser add all the options separately? Surely this would have been more expensive than buying the Chilli pack?
