gearbox and running gear fora 1985 Vauxhall Carlton 1.8 s

Hi all
i have just joined piston heads forum
does any body know if the 1995 VAUXHALL CARLTON 1985 1.8 S gearbox will fit straight on to the redtop engine and is it the getrag box
i am looking to put my race red top engine in to a manta but i have been told the gearbox 1800 gettrag is the one to use
At the moment we are on a f20 front wheel drive box astra
