HI, I have a Proton Satria GTi 2002 which I race. I have been looking for rear shocks/dampers which are really difficult to find.
However as the car is really a Mitsubishi Colt I thought I may get shocks for a Colt to fit.
The question is does anyone know the exact model and year Colt that the Proton Satria GTi is based on?
Any other suggestions welcome.

I thought some people had fitted all sorts of Evo parts as well.

Gets a mention here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Hmm interesting, would be much easier to find Evo dampers. I wonder how I can find out exactly which ones.

Colt CA up to 1994 are the same size.

The proton and Colt coupes also fit.

Evo 123 will fit but raise the rear slightly due to less weight. Mitsi FTO should also fit, as will the Volvo S40 range which used the Mitsi bodyshell as its base.

Apart from that I have no idea.....

For lots of spare shocks try the proton owners club.

Lots of the rally boys run Evo suspension on them. I've done an event in a Proton GTi and it handled beautifully on them. Couldn't tell you any more than that though, I only sit in the silly seat!

Proton owners club is a very friendly place. http://www.protonownersclub.co.uk/forum/
There's loads of used standard shocks for sale. I have a set myself.

Im running a weekend track day Proton converted to run AWD Evo running gear. As the Proton GTI is essentially a Mitsi hatch, it wasnt that hard conversion.

There were at least three Awd conversions before mine, and another has just been completed. So its a popular conversion.
