Depreciation resistant RHD junior open top supercar
Discussion
Chaps, I am in the lucky position of being able to spend £80k on a car. It is a toy, and must be two seater, convertible, and a "step up" in terms of specialness from a Morgan Aero 8. No Porsches, or Aston V8Vs.
Other thing is that (as ever) it will get changed in a year to 18 months, so as little depreciation as possible. I tried a Ferrari 360 Spyder, and liked it a lot as these seem to be hitting the bottom of the curve, and are a very special place to be, and available well within budget. But what about the $30 or a Gallardo? Anyone own/have experience of these? And are there any obvious other contenders out there that I am missing?

8C soft top? About double the budget!
LHD so wait a few more weeks for the euro to tank a bit more? £110k on this coupe one from italy http://annunci.ebay.it/annunci/auto/alessandria-an...If you want it depreciation proof you need to get something which was produced in low numbers - which rules out almost everything from the last 20 years.
If it wasn't for the convertible requirement I'd be recommending my own choice - a Ferrari 512TR - only 50 brought into the UK...every outing is an event with the symphony of the flat-12 behind and even by todays standards anything but slow.

In Harry's shoes I'd be looking at the 512 over a 360 or 430.To be honest though after the Aero I would suggest 99.5% of the viable options are relatively "Common as muck."
I like the idea of getting 2 or 3 slightly less expensive cars that have a lot of potential to go up in value or at worst stay where they are so long as you sell in March. T350, Tamora, 968cs (bias alert), and a few others I am sure you could work out but which I might be looking for one of so am not about to sing their praises on here just yet

If you are determined to save the pennies (and when advising a man who likely thinks little of dropping £200 on a normal night out the concept is an interesting one to grasp!) make your short list and go shopping in Novemeber to January when this sort of metal is always a little cheaper.
