SL300 or 350?

Quite tempted by one of these at the moment.

Can anyone here tell me their experiences of them please? Is the 300 nippy enough or would you go for the 350?

Are they good to drive or characterless?

Just got mine (1987 300SL) so early days...but I am very pleased with it so far.
Steering feel precise for worm and peg, brisk acceleration when required (but feels disrespectful if you know what I mean). Feels like a heavy car when on the road; like it is carved out of a piece of solid granite; but non the less a great place to be. Love all the styling cues and the build quality is superb.
On the whole I am a happy 300SL owner, can't comment on the 350 as I have never driven one.
