Last time I went to the Donnington show there was a 12 foot high solid fence so that you could not see the track. You could hear it, there was a classic race meeting but you could only see through the rivet holes in the fence.
To be honest I felt a bit cheated, it was another £10 to get into the race spectating area. If you could see the racing it would have been a much better day out.

Aren't CKC running this? Maybe one of the team could confirm / deny this.To be honest I felt a bit cheated, it was another £10 to get into the race spectating area. If you could see the racing it would have been a much better day out.

Yes, I remember that (the last Donny show). I reluctantly paid the £10 and I was glad I did; It was better than the slightly dissapointing kit show and worth it just to see them run an Auto-union. I think the year before was a 750MC meeting and you had to trek all the way around to the tunnel/track centre to get in to it, the same as the classic racing. Not a lot could be seem from the show area. Hope it's not the same this year.To be honest I felt a bit cheated, it was another £10 to get into the race spectating area. The 750MC agreed to move their Donington race meeting to coincide with the show. This is good news all round at it gives the 750MC a good shop window and show-goers get a great spectacle. All the owners clubs will be situated on the infield where there's excellent viewing of the circuit. There will be no additional charge to watch the racing.

Good idea and thanks for the clarification Adam.
At the risk of being cheeky, can you confirm what the programme will be concerning track use: will there be any sessions for a) mfr demos / test rides or b) owners generally? Or is it devoted to 750MCs event (not attended one before so not familiar with typical schedule).

That sounds good like good news, can we change the title of the thread? I see that the show is in the exhibtion hall , which is on the outside of the track, how does this work with the clubs on the inside of the track? We need this : http://doningtonkitcarshow.com/index.html filling in a bit.
I will go if there is racing to watch as well, and maybe take the family.

Public track time at an organised race meeting is very doubtful !!,the organisers will have enough to do with out catering for an unknown number or quality of drivers and cars ,it would be nice butI don't think it would be feasable [this is not a knock to any one's ablities mechanical or skillwise ] ------ my ops only!!
I did a track day at Donny on a Friday in the winter, it cost £295 each so I cannot see how the organisers can provide track use for much less than that. A small fee for a few laps is not going to happen due to scrutineering and driver safety briefings and available track time etc. A race fee for Donny can easily cost £2-300 per car for 15 minutes of track time.
I am looking forward to the Donny show, I have heard that the organisers plan to include a "moving motor show" with manufacturers taking potential customers for a spin on part of the circuit. That will be brilliant as a drive will close a lot of deals.

The circuit will be taken by the 750MC all weekend. However, as Stuart mentioned, we are planning manufacturer demonstration rides where show-goers will be able to take a 'Kit Car Taxi' ride around the Heritage Loop.At the risk of being cheeky, can you confirm what the programme will be concerning track use: will there be any sessions for a) mfr demos / test rides or b) owners generally? As you'll appreciate, it's early days yet for all these arrangements, but we will be confirming details on the website and in the advert in CKC as and when more is confirmed!

Thanks again. I've no doubt owners would love a trackday on the cheap, but let's not look a gift horse in the mouth: the kit car taxi ride not only sounds like something missing (AFAIK) from other shows, and addresses one of the common show complaints discussed elsewhere. Most likely stating the obvious, but confirming this as soon as so that some sort of basic pre-booking might be initiated could prove a useful marketing device....
