what do these buttons do?

hi guys,

there are 3 buttons under the dash on my chim,

the black one above the right knee does the boot,
the clear one above the right knee - unknown - but the set of relays shown in the pic below click when i press it
the other black one above the left knee - again unknown?

any ideas guys?

One of the unknowns will probably turn the dash light on/off the other not a clue.

Left is the dimmer for the dash light, right dark one is for the boot the clear one could be the fan over ride switch.

looking at some other posts now im wondering if one is heated seats?

its a 1993 model if that helps.

Try the left one at night with your lights on

For me, the one above my left knee is a radiator fan override switch, and the one above my right knee opens the boot.

They only work with the engine on, or ignition on.

ok guys, checklast night and the black button above my left knee is indeed the instrument dimmer.

OK one left to ID!

Didn't the early cars have an extra fan in drivers footwell for ventilation
operated from one of these buttons, remember looking for one in mine in vain.

ok mystery solved, the clear/white button on the right hand side is for heated seats, lol.

found some wiring going into the seat, which switched to live when the ign and the button were on.

now need to find out if they work.

Do you have a photo of the wiring?

I am keen to find out how the seats were wired up.
