Tried my air con yesterday and no joy, i think she is in need of a top up.

I dont suppose anyone knows how much gas the system takes ?

I've just had mine done and it took 850 whatever units it's measured in. Seems nice and cold.

Knowing the weight doesn't help much unless it is completely empty and drained of oil.

Fill the air con slowly with a thermometer in the drivers air vent and the aircon on full with all the other vents closed. The temperature will reduce as you add refrigerant then slow down and stop dropping. Stop adding refrigerant when the temperature stops reducing.

It would be worth finding out where the system is leaking from first. Normally a split hose or condenser. Ie the front rad. See if you can see any oil stains on the fining.
