Hi,

I sold an item on eBay, which the buyer decided he then didn't want. I re-listed the item and the item has now sold and has been delivered fine. However, I am now landed with two lots of final value fee's (£9.99 each). The first from the 'unsuccessful purchase' and the second from the 'successful purchase'.

It seems unfair that the initial buyer has now put me £10 out of pocket. Can anything be done?

Cheers,
Lund

You could have cancelled the transaction (with buyer agreement) or opened an unpaid item case..success with each would have refunded the fee. You probably still can.

Go to the original transaction, and click resolve a problem.

Thats a really big help thanks, I have now made the request. Again, it seems unfair that the buyer could potentially decline the request and still put me out of pocket.

If the buyer declines to cancel the transaction, this case will be automatically closed and you will not receive a final value fee credit.

If he does nothing, then you still win. (after four days)

If he declines to cancel the transaction you can open an Unpaid Item case against him that will issue an unpaid item strike to his account. This potentially limits who else he can buy from if they have specified that they do not accept bids from users who have recieved unpaid item strikes recently, like I do.
