1992 was a particularly bad year -

Also '1992 - The Love Album' by Carter USM and the 'Seven' album by James - featuring Born of Frustration and Sound.

As said above, silly OP and depends on what you listen to. do a quick google search of best metal albums of 91 and 92 for example, and you will see the 90s were by far some of the best years

When Pearl Jam were at the peak of their powers, as were Soundgarden and Nirvana? Not to mention Alice In Chains and Faith No More and Metallica and Megadeth and Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails and REM and Pantera.

Not exactly a barren wasteland, musically speaking I'd say.

That's the thing, though; you don't have to "get" any type of music as it's such a broad church it's got room for everyone. Example? I thoroughly dislike Country & Western, but I admire Albert Lee as a C&W guitarist. I like a bit of Jazz, but the bebop era - to me - is musically destitute. It doesn't stop me admiring the skills of Charlie Parker.

From Hildegard of Bingen to Lady Gaga, there's 700 years of music to love and hate so don't get excited if people question your indifference to one particular decade.
