Like everyone I have been fed up with the abnormal cold/wet of April and May, but, crikey what a stonking evening for riding today.

Just got in from a blast over and up Ivinghoe Beacon, could see for miles from the top, the air was really warm, muscles actually felt strong lungs felt good without sucking in freezing air. Just one of those perfect rides.

Same here. Rode in shorts...the first time this year.

Now to lose all the lard I have gained this winter.

nice one, yes it's amazing the difference a bit of sun and warmth makes to how you feel when on the bike, let's hope it last longer than a few days eh ?

80k today, all on roads, even the foolish drivers couldn't spoil it.

Cracking ride this evening. Just enjoying the sun and not really thinking about it I did my best time for the loop and also notched up 3 PBs.

Yup, cracking evening (although a tad breezy!) - nice to go out in shorts and a short sleeved jersey and not have to stuff a windproof jacket in the jersey!

Took my cross bike for a spin tonight, 26-ish road miles and 6-ish off road - lovely! 2 x personal bests on Strava, would have had another one but the sun bought out the joggers and dog walkers on the Thames Flood channel, which made it a bit too congested to keep a consistent speed!

Apparently the weather should be with us over the weekend, so stick your water bottles in the fridge and make the most of it as it will probably snow in June if the weather so far this year is anything to go by!!!!!

I'll take 15-20 deg over 20-25 any day.

I've been riding shorts since March, anything over 8/9 is shorts in my book.

Mental. 3/4 lengths for me for the last few months.

Took the bike to work today.

I'm not a very rapid rider, but my first outing of the year with a 29kph ave over 50K (25K in 25K out) and I'm pretty chuffed. My PB was 29.6 ave last year so this bodes well. I want to crack the 30!!

PB on our club 10 mile TT tonight, albeit only my second ever effort. First time under 30 minutes as well.

My first ride in and back today: morning was lovely and cool, evening lovely and warm.

I know it won't always be that nice of course, but for the moment, doing it in the same time as it would take for the tube journey is fine and dandy.

And I bet the tube was horrible today.

Nope me too, totally over dressed in my winter jkt, shorts and leggings. I was like a little personal sauna in my gear. Was cold on the way in @ 6a.m. but coming home last night was something else.

I had to chuckle to myself the last couple of days, all manner of "first time out of the shed for 6month" bikes on the roads and trails with their riders clearly abit green :-)

Must admit to dragging out my shorts too though... on the plus side I set a new PB on a regular training loop, I put the time down to not having to wear or carry waterproofs for the first time this year!

Its been pretty good the last few days, but last night was the best so far. Could only have been improved upon if it hadnt been windy.
Lost count of the number of other cyclists out and about, but all the local clubs were out in force - three large groups, including the one i was riding in and loads of individuals.
Fingers crossed that it stays like this for a while!

I've been alternating between 3/4 length "shorts" and lycra on rides, regardless of the weather. But for tomorrows ride into work, its going to be the "proper" MTB shorts (they're almost too comfy).

If last nights ride is anything to go by (about 15 miles), I'll melt on the 22 miles to the office. But will have a huge smile on my face at the end.
