Nurburgring 24hrs photos

Just finished uploading my set from last weekend's Nürburgring 24hrs race. It was my first time taking pictures there, so I think it's fair to say it was something of a baptism of fire in the Green Hell....I certainly had the blisters, sunburn, and muscle-ache to prove it! Must have walked a good 20kms, with heavy camera bag and supplies, all the while trying to find spots that weren't blocked by high fences, and dodging massively drunk sausage throwing Germans!

As you can see though, the weather was great, bringing out the natural beauty of the scenery, especially on the Sunday morning....which made it worth 'sleeping' in the car and getting up at 4:30am to hike to a suitable part of the circuit!

Thanks, next time I hope to find some more good vantage points (no pun intended) like that; as this was my first time taking pictures there I had to walk miles (literally!) to find spots I was happy with, not helped by all the tents and people and fences. Having said that, I did use GT5 beforehand to work out where the sun would set and rise for the best light (my kind of research ), in relation to where spectators can stand, but there are a lot more high fences and blocked off areas that you can't see on the PS3. Even looking on youtube and flickr was misleading because areas that are left open on tourist days are unfortunately blocked off for race events.

I guess the only way to do it is to go there again and get more 1st hand experience of the place, I only wish I had a go-ped or similar
