Cam retaining plate - options?

Hi all,

because I'm using a 4.6 RR block for my rebuild, I've got the option of using the cam retaining plate.
Trouble is, my new cam (Crower 50233) has a totally different nose on it.

getting it machined off doesn't look like much of an option so what can I do to keep the thing in place?
