Stupid question I know but for the life of me I cannot see / find my heater / fan control box.......any ideas.

My fan was not working so checked the fuse and all fine......now lifted the left side of the dash and followed the ribbon.......but was not connected to anything?

The good news is the end of theribbon looks in good nic so fingers crossed the fan will work once reconnected......just got find the thing.

Ha, here starteth the journey. I'm not sure what year car you have, i'm slightly lucky in that i have a 93 and there's an inspection hatch for mine but they're right in the passenger footwell, to the left of the battery. It's my understanding that the later models have a piece of fibreglass rivetted over to hide the motor (just to make things that little bit more fun)

Put it this way, mine's go the hatch there and i still could get my head into a position to see the bloody thing !!

HTH though !

Sorry, I am referring to the little black box which the switch connects too. See some pics on here but mine I cannot see. It's a 1998 car.

Ok, here’s a pic looking down through the screen to the back of the dash & you can see the control box on the right towards the bottom. So on mine it sat behind the second dial in from the right.

BTW, this is what the box looks like:

and this is where I’ve re-located it to now:

HTH.

Excellent pics., that helps leads.........however I can't see or feel it with
Just the left side of the dash up......guess that means I need to undo the dreaded 3rd bolt and take the lot off for better access
Thanks again

Mine (2000) is roughly in the middle, somewhere behind the small dials.

With a torch you might be able to see it, but you will need to get the whole dash loose at least to get to it.

Ok dash totally off now..........I officially have no Heater control box.........so clearly at some point in the cars past it was taken out........I now just have the White connector block and the black ribbon connector per my picture earlier

Any one got a spare heater control box I could buy? Most specialists only sell them on an exchange basis.

At least anyone got on I could borrow to see if the system works? I'm based in Solihull, west midlands

ChimaeraPages suggests its a Vauxhall part but I must admit I thought it was a TVR part:

The breakers will all have them, though. Not that common a requirement that they sell out.
