I suffer from mild isomnia at least 3-4 times a week, either not getting off to sleep or waking at 3-4am and not being able to get back off.

Ive had this for a few years now, when i get to bed i have a habit of reciting things in my head, nothing bad mainly about motors and such like!!

Tried lots of stuff over the years, only thing that worked was zopiclone/amytriptiline/diazapam (all pescribed)

The only trouble was the side effects, id feel awful and have a metal taste in my mouth all day.

Read an article about cherry juice increasing the levels of melatonin in your body, a glass 20 mins before bed is suppose to work.

So off i pop to asda, buy some, had a glass that night and i slept like a log, was pretty hard to get up in the morning, had a glass last night and same story.

It appears to be working.

So if you have any trouble sleeping give it a try, its worked for me.

Cherry juice certainly seems to work for me.

However that could be due to the amount of vodka I add to it drunk

I may have to try that. I wake up around 6am regardless of what time I go to sleep.... or whether or not i've been out drinking.

Cheers

You mention Melatonin, which is something you can buy in the USA as a herbal remedy. I use it to combat jet lag, and find it very useful. I didn't know about Cherry Juice, I'll have to have a read...

Thanks!

Cherrygood. £1.50 a litre.

Reading the ingredients it seems to be more pure than asda's own.

Sounding good.
I used to take a cherry drink when I trained a few years ago.
I love the taste of cherry and would prefer to drink one that has little added extras as possible.

Thanks, found some in the end, my local Tesco stocks it as well. Tried it last night, I still woke up at my usual stupid o'clock in the morning but did go back to sleep and now feel half dead this morning so it definitely does something... biggrin Will give it another go tonight.

I nipped into Waitrose in Windsor to hydrate after a night of drinking and a few hours of sun bathing. They has Cherry Good but i didn't manage to get a second of sleep.

But I haven't tried it at night whilst sober. It was discounted and tasted pleasantly nice.
