Hi,

I'm booked in for a track day which I know I will be to loud for, so I need some silencing cans. I've just spoke to ACT and they can't help me because I have a large and slightly flared tail pipe and their cans won't fit over and clamp on.

Does anyone have any alternative ideas?

J.

can you just put the standard back on for the track day?

As said maybe be best to put the standard one back on although it is a fiddly job with the diffuser. Also depends on how many track days you may do. I went back to the standard one for this reason.

thanks, I'd have to buy a standard one and don't really have the location or equipment to fit/refit every time.

I was wondering if there are any other options?

Can you not get some kind of baffle made that slides in the tailpipe? I had one on my old gt4 and they make quite a difference. I would imagine it would be quite easy to get something fabricated that bolted inside.

I met you at the TitT7 last year as i have a T3350t with the same exhaust as yours, which you werre asking questions about.
I have been looking and emailing for a while for something, and the only suggestions that i've had have been change the back box, or do track days where there are no restrictions.
If you do find anything and they will offer a better price for two sets let me know

When i checked mine the engine wasn't warm enough to get to 4k revs, but it was 98db at tick over and about 103bd at 3k revscloud9
In order to keep my neighbors happy i dont take it out too early in the monring or late at night

I've used these and been fine at Combe - who have suspiciously high noise readings, and co-incidentally silencers on sale at their shop - and elsewhere for several years.

I have a 104db reading without on my JP big-bore system

You need the largest set.

But, you'll need to get a steel tube of right size tack-welded to the input end to slide into your exhaust, then drill a hole for bolt in bottom of it (or a really tight interference fit, as mine is with no bolt). Don't use nyloc nut it would melt.

Fiddly to put on, each time, but works. Several of us use them on T350's, with added washers between the discs to minimise restriction (otherwise, as with most db reducers, drops about 10% power according to my datalogger)

Had them made up by a man who was used by Dulfords, "now sadly gone", could probably find out who, but if i remember he had to measure my exhaust to get exact fit. must be someone in your area who could make a pair !!!,if not maybe a trip to Devon, good luck.
