Cracking noise
Discussion
I have had this annoying creaking/cracking noise when going over uneven road surface, I have replaced the shocks and bought some Steve Heath drop links, the the anti roll bar bushes have been replaced. if I push down on the wings when parked up it doesn't make a noise. can anyone shed some light on what might need to be replaced, could it be the suspension bushes ?

so its front I'm guessing?... are the exhausts manifolds hitting the top tubes on the frame?... That can give this noise?....
Tell me more Mr Beaver
Mine has had this noise ever since I bought it three years ago.
Replaced suspension bushes, drop links, ARB bushes, checked upper & lower joints (all good).
All with no improvement to the noise described by the OP.
Secured the loose carbon filter, made a better job of securing the rad, replaced the old coil overs for new GGP's.
And still the "clack clack" noise persisted as you pitch it into a bend.
I have checked the engine mounts and resolved a loose bolt.
Again the noise continues.
Just recently I decided I would replace the engine mounts for the new improved type from SC-Power.
Not bought them yet, but do you think engine mounts are where the problem is then?
Could be... saggy or ill -fitted mounts will allow the manifolds to get close to the tubes... then when they hit... clank-clank...
Got to say you usualy hear it more with engine twist when reved.. but it might be moveing away.. depends which side is hitting... take a look here at the gap.. you should be able to get your fingers all the way between the two ... id say 10mm gap?... easy to check..
.
Ooops.. its not up loading.. systems down.. will put it up when back on...

Could be the drop links. I have a similar noise on my Griff that has only appeared since fitting a set of Leven drop links. I know they have lubrication points for the rose joints - but these require a needle nose adapter for my grease gun - and that's something I'm yet to get hold of!
The problem with the drop links... and shocks that have bearings in the ends (spherical bearings) is the gap between the inside diameter of the bearing... and the bolt that passes through it to hold it on.
I messed around for ages trying to find a click / crack noise on my car... It turned out to be this gap... only 0.10mm or so but did actualy make a right din!.. I ended up making a special bolt in the end to prove the point (after packing it with tin-foil)... and it went away
I have Nitrons on the car now... and I'm sure the rear ones do the same thing over big bumps... Click, Click noise.... I've got the bolts down at 60 LBf and the buggers still move.... You only have a small face to clamp on with the spherical bearing....
Although annoying... I don't tend to bother now... so long as I know what it is and its not detrimental.... I may make special bolts this winter if I get chance
