You have to admire their humour on pricing.

Somebodies foreign excursion came to a nasty end.

At least you'll get 3 decent alloys out of the deal?

Their cars normally seem cheap.

I suppose the fact they've took it to the NL from the UK means they hope to sell it on in Europe where used prices are a bit higher? It'll probably end up being fixed up and sent east.

Sorry but I can't help myself hehe

It'll polish out, no problems.

It's not such a bad deal if you live in the Netherlands - on a used version of this you'd have to pay about €7000 'BPM' to the government. The high price reflects the fact you'd be able to dodge this tax.

It's not that comic. 530is hold their value better in Europe and the damage, while nasty, could be easily rectified

Bit of T-Cut and it'll polish out fne.

In all seriousness though by UK standards yes it is OTT but taking into account an 08 plate 530d tourer over there will set you back up to 42000 euro (or around £34000) it starts to show that actually price wise that may very well be on the button for the market

This is the second thread I have read today that makes me realise that running a car in the UK is far cheaper than abroad in the EU. They must be as jealous of us as we are of the USA.

Try somewhere like Norway or Iceland. They're buying 10 year old Astras and Mondeos for something like £20k. Makes NO sense.

This is why if and when I get dragged to Finland by the OH... I will be buying 3/4 cars 6 months prior and taking them across there from the UK... especially after seeing her father pay the best part of 20k for an old volvo S80
