splitters and spoilers
Discussion
hey all
i know this topic comes up alot, with various outcomes but i need to add my thoughts based on todays pick up and drive.
i have just had fitted a polished gel coat front D splitter and an s boot spoiler without the lenses both by julian at fibreon.
my mk1 is transformed.
night and day.
anyone considering it. do it. the car actually feels heavier in a pushed down way, totally different, makes u realise how fly away light it felt before.

Have to say i really dont like the mk1 S spolier, its just too big. I may consider the mk2 spoiler, smaller lip and much more discrete. I just think the lines of the mk1 are so clean they dont look right with the blooming great spoiler on the back.
However, this thread has given me an idea...maybe a clear spoiler on bespoke aluminum brackets like the Sag? I cant employ the 'science' in design that TVR did though...reckon there was much science behind their mk1 s spoiler?? or all design flare??
Good to hear feedback on the handling improvements too,

Two things dude
Blooming great ?? Seriously ? Its not a whale tail !
And the s spoiler is not just design and no function.
As vbh said ... "It really is there for down force and that's scary"
And she is really hot imho
I do agree the non s is a beautifully curvy thing.. but by the same token them curves are dangerous !

It can only reduce lift by creating down force..
Not necessarily, lift and downforce act in opposite directions The effect may be the same but reducing lift is not the same as increasing down force until you have reduced the lift so much that it becomes -ve lift

sorry carp explanation
Ahhh
U again with the its too big
Each to their own Rob, if the sag thing flicks ur switches I guess ur always gonna want one.
For me... The sag spoiler is a sag spoiler. It's spikey and pointy ... This is a tuscan curvy and
exy. ( say that bit like gok wan)
That makes me a bit of a purist I spose.
Good luck if u do it tho dude I'd like to see it nonetheless.
