I remain convinced that there's a lost tribe of Le Manners, possibly Jaaaaag fans from the '80s, who still live, read are trapped, in Rouen.

Satnav nearly caused us to lose the roof of the motorhome in Rouen after we missed the usual turn off down the side of the railway sidings & headed towards town. Luckily it was about midnight so managed a couple of illegal turns to bypass it!

We know the railway sidings in Rouen very well cos we always used to end up there every year completely lost !

Theres a very nice industrial zone in Rouen.... You'll only find it when you're lost though....

Japanese infantrymen are still being discovered in Rouen, dating back to the second world war.

Happily for them, the war is now over. On the negative side they lost, but on a more positive note Nissan and Toyota are both showing out at Le Mans this year.

Just follow the ring road.I have been going for years, so dont have any problems now.It does all look the same though!!

Anyone can go round Rouen. The trick is to actually go in and make it out before the next ice age kicks in.

Halfway down the railway sidings is a long narrow bridge crossing over them. One year we were queuing for ages down there, 2 lines of traffic bumper to bumper so decided to cross the bridge!
It was like Milton Keynes without the concrete cows or roundabouts but every junction looked the same after passing a couple of places a number of times we managed to crawl out the other side onto the autoroute! More luck than judgment but we survived.

going along by the railway sidings is the correct way, we use that route every year going, but always go through the centre of rouen on the way back on sunday night, no traffic and much faster than the ring road

There is a model cow on a roundabout near there so it is just like Milton Keynes. we know we are on the right road when we see the roundabout cow

I've actually only got lost in Rouen once, when I was driving down there on my own, without the aid of a naviguesser / fellow victim.


I was, apparently, officially listed as MIA, and they held a street party when I eventually returned home two years later

These days, and after much therapy, we tend to skirt around Rouen to the north west, not least because I tend to start rocking back and forth in my seat and dribbling whenever I see a concrete cow...

Glad it's not just me who has issues with Rouen. The first year I drove to le mans I was the third car in the convoy. The first two had satnav and the plan was for me to keep them in sight. I nearly got t-boned on a roundabout in my attempts to keep up. Stressful isn't the word!
